Because as a spiritual entrepreneur, your biggest objective in your marketing needs to be: authenticity. No sleazy tactics and unethical marketing methods. Only your genuine self-expression that showcases how you’re making our world a better place.

As the maze of marketing might make you a little dizzy, it’s so important that every once in a while, you reassess your efforts. This is what self-audits are for because without them, you might be pursuing a path that isn’t fully in alignment with your higher self. And when you go off track, sadly that shows up in your marketing efforts in the form of misalignment with your soul clients. To put it simply: no growth and stagnating or decreasing revenue.
Journaling questions for better alignment
It doesn’t matter how skilled or experienced you are in business, it’s super easy to get lost in your ideas instead of executing them. Especially if you’re the innovative type like me ๐ It happens to the best of us, so don’t feel bad.
I personally found that using journaling questions is one of the easiest solutions to recalibrate our soulful mission in business. Why? Because they take us deeper into our psyche and quiet down the logical thoughts. Yes, you need a healthy balance of intuition and logic as a spiritual entrepreneur but when you want to turn up the volume of authenticity, logic needs to go & sit on the bench.
With that said, let me show you 5 of my favourite journaling questions to help you bring your authentic self into your marketing even more.
1๏ธโฃ Which marketing efforts drain my energy that donโt bring results?
๐ค WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? You might have heard about the Law of Least Effort, one of the universal laws which also applies within the world of marketing. There are so many spiritual concepts that can be used as marketing methods (I previously wrote about how to use The Four Agreements in your spiritual marketing). In this case, if you’re wasting your energies on activities that drain you and don’t bring you clients or subscribers, then it’s a clear indicator of your marketing actions being out of alignment.
โ WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR ANSWERS? Depending on what you channelled or what insights came through, compare them with your current offerings. Are you truly serving the collective this way or are you playing it small? It’s very common that at first we are scared to play on the big stage and we hold ourselves back. Most of the time this is due to self-doubt or lack of confidence. If you feel this way, it might be a good idea to explore working with a spiritual business coach or mentor to help you clarify your next steps while boosting your confidence.
2๏ธโฃ How can I refine my offers to better serve the collective?
๐ค WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? As a spiritual entrepreneur, you are here to make a positive impact. To elevate the collective consciousness and humanity. When you bring SERVICE to the core of your marketing, that’s when you can experience lasting growth in your spiritual business.
โ WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR ANSWERS? Once you answered this journaling question, take a look at your biggest wins in your spiritual business. Where did most of your clients come from? Which marketing activity brought you new leads, followers or subscribers? When you know this, then ask yourself: which marketing activity do you LOVE doing? Now you can start tweaking things in your efforts: do more of what brings results in a way that you enjoy doing. And start minimizing tasks that you really can’t stand. Delegate, delay or delete if you can!
3๏ธโฃ If my brand were a person, what would their personality be like?
๐ค WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? Your brand needs to reflect your authentic self. Branding is the personality of your spiritual business and as you are a conscious being, that brand personality needs to reflect you. No sugarcoating, no illusions and definitely no hiding behind a false persona.
โ WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR ANSWERS? Out of the 5 journaling questions, this is the one with the most amount of fun, so play with it ๐ You don’t need to overthink it, simply entertain the thought that your brand is a breathing, living creature just like you. Look at the personality traits you’ve written and check if that tone, that approach, that characteristic is coming across in your marketing materials. If not, it’s time to juice things up and splash a ton of your authentic personality ALL OVER your marketing.
4๏ธโฃ What do I need to do more of to resonate better with my audience?
๐ค WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? You could have the best service or product at the best price but if your audience doesn’t resonate with you, they won’t buy it. When you’re not sure how to resonate with your audience, think in terms of relatability. What do you and your audience have in common? Also, your solution needs to resonate with your ideal client’s needs (learning, healing, eliminating need AKA pain points).
โ WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR ANSWERS? After you’ve listed a few ideas to resonate better with your tribe, include them in your communication (in social media posts, your website copy, newsletters etc). For example, if you realized that you haven’t shared the fact that you dealt with the same problem as they are facing now, then rewrite your About section on your website or create a Reel when you talk about how you overcame that struggle. Be raw, real and vulnerable.
5๏ธโฃ What do I need to let go of to match the frequency of my soul clients?
๐ค WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? This one is a truly powerful journaling question. I left this one for last for a reason. You already know that you’re holding back your personal growth by attaching yourself to past events and patterns that no longer serve you. Authentic marketing is no different. It also needs the active practice of detachment to shift its energetics.
โ WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR ANSWERS? Notice where in your marketing you have resistance. Perhaps you had wonderful clients before by doing free webinars but for the last year it’s not really working out. Those wonderful clients are now NOT vibing on the same frequency of jumping on free webinars, maybe they’re now purchasing memberships to belong to a like-minded spiritual community. Your frequencies are now a mismatch. Be courageous to try something now and step away from what isn’t working.
Remember, there isn’t a magic formula for marketing your spiritual business. You need to find ways that feel aligned with who you are on a soul level. While these journaling questions can help you understand better what needs tweaking, I always recommend testing different approaches to see what works best for you. The crucial ingredient though for successful marketing is AUTHENTICITY, as I mentioned already at the beginning of this article. Our world desperately needs more realness so I encourage you to show us the genuine, raw, authentic you in your marketing efforts as well.
