Spiritual entrepreneurs have figured something out: being one of them is a million times more fulfilling than being stuck in a corporate job just to pay the bills. However, entrepreneurship has some challenges, just like everything else in life. I collected the 3 most important things you need to know about before you plunge into starting a spiritual business. Because relying just on your manifestation skills might not be enough to make a living out of your soul’s calling.

But first things first (so that we’re on the same page):

What is a spiritual entrepreneur?

A spiritual entrepreneur is someone who makes a living out of providing services or selling products related to spiritual development, energy healing, consciousness elevation or holistic wellbeing. Some of the most recognized professions are:

  • spiritual coach
  • Reiki master
  • Tarot / Oracle card reader
  • psychic medium
  • Shamanic healer
  • Kundalini yoga teacher
  • crystal healing teacher

This list is a tiny fraction of the spiritual industry. It has been growing since the late 2010s and it’s expected to keep growing. So if don’t already belong to the tribe of spiritual entrepreneurs, this is definitely a good time to jump onto this fulfilling career path.

And now, as I promised, here are some brutally honest truths about this journey. Because it’s definitely not for everyone and I’m known for not sugar-coating things 😄

3 facts about spiritual entrepreneurship

3 facts about spiritual entrepreneurs chart by Timi Orosz, soulful business coach

Fact 1️⃣ – it’s not about the money, that’s a nice side-effect

When you follow your inner calling to make a positive impact on humanity or on the world, the biggest motivator isn’t to make some quick cash. While “traditional” entrepreneurs and businesses are built on making profit, a soulful venture has a more meaningful foundation.

So if your biggest desire for starting a spiritual business is to become rich fast, then please choose another industry. Because when your intention doesn’t align with your core message (=what you communicate to the world about your services), there will be an energetic mismatch. And that kind of misalignment ALWAYS shows up in your business.

This can manifest as:

  • attracting problematic clients who complain, want refunds or leave bad reviews
  • not having the energy to deliver your services, feeling constantly drained
  • experiencing sudden or significant financial loss (unexpected bills, being scammed etc)

However. When your intention is to make our world a better place through your business AND you follow an aligned strategy to do that, money always shows up. It’s inevitable 😊

And no, it doesn’t mean that you need to undervalue your skills or keep your prices low. This actually happens way too often and 9 out of 10 clients I support in my 6 Foundations of Business Consciousness mentoring program, always feel relieved when I suggest increasing their prices.

Fact 2️⃣ – spiritual entrepreneurs often struggle with self-doubt

No matter how far you’re on your spiritual development journey, self-doubt can still creep up on you from time to time. Especially when your livelihood depends on trusting your own skillset as an entrepreneur!

Even though I have a solid business background as a previous CEO and Sales & Marketing Director, I also had to deal with this phase of spiritual entrepreneurship. And most likely you will too. But it’s ok. This is part of your journey to let go of the limiting beliefs and start trusting your own power.

Every single one of my spiritual business mentoring clients doubted themselves at some point. No exceptions.

So what can you do when this self-doubt completely clouds your mind?

  • Acknowledge that you’re in a human body and you’re SUPPOSED to be making mistakes. It’s your learning curve so be forgiving with yourself.
  • Remind yourself what kind of positive impact you want to make and why. Because when you bring your deepest drive to your consciousness, it will energetically alter your state. Which takes us to my next point 👇
  • Elevate your energy up to a higher vibration. Do this by visualization, listening to music that puts you in a good mood or get physically active. Physically shake your body off if you have to. Get rid of the low vibrational energy.

Also remember that your higher self always has your back. Even when it feels like that you’re going through major challenges, you’ll see that those moments are serving your best interest.

Fact 3️⃣ – you can’t JUST manifest and hope for the best

While I’m all about manifesting our reality, when it comes to running a spiritual business, I have some sobering news for you. Aligned action is a must have.

❌ Manifestation alone will NOT: fine-tune your messaging, resonate better with your audience, bring you steady income and so on. Now, before you start screaming at your screen, let me reassure you that affirmations, visualization and manifesting ARE indeed powerful tools for spiritual entrepreneurs. When they are paired with an energetically aligned action plan.

But I know nothing about strategy and marketing is so overwhelming 😩

If you’re thinking something like this, you’re not alone. And it’s perfectly okay. So let me fix that for you.

Highly intuitive and spiritual people actually have a major advantage when creating business strategies. Why? Because you intuitively KNOW what your audience feels, what the collective needs and what you need to do.

What’s missing is a focus point for you. Meaning, instead of trying to do everything from posting endless content on social media, to sending out random newsletters and hosting free webinars, etc, you should pick ONE (!) main activity each month. Try it, test it and see what results it brings.

Marketing a spiritual business relies on authenticity.

If something doesn’t feel right please don’t do it. Because that resistance will energetically trickle into your business. Experiment with different marketing activities and stick to what works for YOU. In case you need a starting guide, you can find 12 marketing activities within my Mindful Marketing Toolkit to help you get going.

And finally, let me leave you with a gift because I know how much you love affirmations 😊 Pick your favourites and use them alongside your focus action each month to experience lasting changes in your soulful business. Grab your free copy right here 👇
